Soar Like An Eagle – The Start Of Something Huge

I’ve written a few posts about the beginning. The excitement that you feel when you start something new. A relationship, a business, whatever it is it is full of possibilities. The possibilities are endless. It can turn out to be something great, the start of something huge. The beginning is the best time and with perseverance, soon you will be soaring like an eagle.

I have two daughters who are currently attending college. This post is about my oldest daughter, Nicole. She will graduate in December from the University of Central Florida. Her degree will be Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. She is also a certified personal trainer and is spreading her wings, getting ready to soar. She is opening her first business, SOAR Fitness, and will be conducting personal training, as well as, group classes. Her website is soar-fit.com.

Big DREAMS

It is exciting to watch your children venture out on their own knowing they have everything to succeed. Her journey is just beginning. I have taught her to enjoy every step. Enjoy the good, the bad, and the ugly. Nicole has big DREAMS. She knows what she wants and is driven to achieve it.

She decided to help people to become physically fit in college. Ever since making her decision, she has been focused. We have been updated on her plans for the last couple of years. I now see how committed she is to her decision. It will happen no matter what. She has written down her goals and formulated plans.

Soon She Will Be Soaring Like An Eagle

Nicole works on her plans daily and, I can see how much she believes in herself. She is quickly developing FAITH! When you have FAITH, nothing can stop you. I know when I talk to someone if they believe in their dreams or not. Nicole does and, soon, she will be soaring like an eagle – the start of something huge.

She already has begun training clients and, there will be more to come. In the future, she will have her clothing line, a brand of supplements, swimwear, and fitness app. Her big dream is to open up her gym.

The Mind-Body Connection

She is currently working on her website and shooting exercise videos to upload. Eventually, she will sell exercise programs online. She is developing an eight-week program to build muscle and reduce body fat.

Nicole’s philosophy is to strengthen the body and the mind together. A strong mind will lead to a strong body. Developing a person’s mentality along with physically strengthening their body will lead to sustainable results. Soon her clients will be soaring like an eagle.

How Thoughts Become Ideas

Have you ever wondered how someone invents something that changes the world? Today I am going to talk about that process and how thoughts become ideas. Last week I talked about specialized knowledge and how to organize and direct knowledge to make it powerful. Today I’m continuing with the 13 steps to gain riches as written in the book, Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill. In his book, Hill gives us 13-steps to acquire wealth. The same steps and techniques can be used to acquire anything. This is the fifth step, imagination, and how imagination is more important than knowledge.

Thoughts Becoming Ideas

One of my favorite sayings is, and I say it a lot, is everything begins in the mind. Disneyland, McDonald’s, Apple, great novels, music, and movies all started in someone’s mind. They began with a thought and through imagination, their thoughts became an idea.

Imagination

Imagination is the workshop where people formulate their plans. The imaginative part of your mind is what spurs you into action. Without imagination, the Wright brothers would have never gotten off the ground and shown us we could fly. You are only limited by the use of your imagination.

There are two forms of imagination in your mind, synthetic and creative. Synthetic imagination creates nothing. It works with the information it’s given, your observations, education, and experience. This is where you can organize old concepts into new combinations and plans.

Creative

Creative imagination is when your finite mind connects to Infinite Intelligence. Hunches and inspirations are received by your creative imagination. It only works when your mind vibrates at an exceedingly fast rate, such as when you focus on a strong desire (your definite purpose) and mix it with emotion. It is through emotion that you increase your mind’s rate of vibration.

Great men and women of the world in all walks of life owe their success to the faculty of creative imagination. They knew how to utilize their minds to turn their definite purpose from an idea into reality. Your imagination, just like your body, becomes stronger with use. Your imagination, like your muscles, becomes weaker through inaction.

Development

To achieve your goals, you must first focus on developing your synthetic imagination. It is necessary for forming your plans. Once your plans are in your synthetic imagination you must commit them to paper. Writing your plan is the first step in converting your thoughts into your reality.

Product of Imagination

Ideas are the product of imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge because knowledge comes from your imagination. Most people, even the most successful, didn’t know how to take their ideas and make them work. They used imagination, both synthetic and creative to transform their ideas into reality.

How do thoughts become ideas? Use your synthetic imagination to formulate your plans on how to achieve your goals. Develop your creative imagination to provide the inspiration and ideas from Infinite Intelligence. Would you like to be in a better place in life this time next year? If so, find your definite purpose, write down a plan for how to make it happen, and begin developing your imagination. We live in an unlimited universe, therefore anything can happen.

Using The Law Of Attraction

I’m going to talk about how to use the Law of Attraction and why some people say it doesn’t work. To begin, let’s get an understanding of the Law of Attraction. It’s simple, whatever you are thinking is what you attract. In the Bible, Galatians 6:7 states, “You reap what you sow.” If you are sowing good seeds (thoughts) you will reap (attract) good things.

If you want a better life, make the life you want to live your predominant thought. Your brain is working all the time. You are constantly putting out thoughts. Even now, while you are reading this, you are putting out thoughts.

Think And Attract

Most people do not pay attention to their thoughts. In turn, their lives become the result of those random thoughts. The life I’m living today is a result of the thoughts I had in the past. My future will be shaped by the thoughts I’m having now. By controlling my thoughts I can determine the life I live in the future.

Do you know anyone who is always complaining? Their lives never seem to get better. In contrast, other people always have good fortune. Everything falls in place for them. They are the people you never hear complain. The bottom line is you can control your thoughts or be a slave to your thoughts. The choice is yours.

Steps To Use The Law Of Attraction

These are the steps on how to use the Law of Attraction. First, understand that we all live in an unlimited universe. You are part of and connected to the universe. The universe has to give you what you are thinking about if you believe it, can see it in your mind, and it feels natural to you.

Decide What You Want

The second step is to decide what you want. Do you want a better job? How about a new car or house? Would you like wealth and be financially free? Maybe it’s time to settle down and start a family. Whatever it is you decide, believe that you can obtain it.

Visualize

Third, picture what you want. Visualize your desire. Meditate and see yourself as if it has already happened. See your friends congratulating you on the new job. Drive your car and live in your house in your mind. Picture yourself paying off that last debt.

The best way to visualize what you desire is to create a vision board. Put pictures on your board of the things you desire. Put your vision board in a place where you can look at it several times a day. Burn those photos into your mind.

Verbalize

Fourth, you are going to ask the Universe/God for what you desire. Verbalize and put emotions to your desires. Create a statement of what you want and what you will sacrifice to get it. Write what you will do to obtain it and put an end date on it. Read this statement twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. Always fall asleep thinking of your desire.

Don’t Worry

Fifth, release all worries about how or when you will achieve your desire. The Law of Attraction will show you how to get what you want. You will attract that knowledge. It takes time to develop the belief and get to the point where it feels real and natural. Don’t worry if nothing happens right away.

Why People Fail

Most people fail to attract the life they want to live due to a lack of patience. We live in a fast-food society, and everybody wants it right now. Develop patience and persevere. Nothing can stop your desire from manifesting except yourself. One negative thought can erase and rewind all of your work to the beginning.

Seeds

Think of the universe as fertile ground. The Law of Attraction says you will receive what you plant. Each thought is like a seed. In nature, a seed is dropped on the ground in the ground goes to work enveloping the seed. The soil nurtures the seed until it begins to transform and grow roots.

The soil provides food for the seed, and the plant emerges from the top of the seed. It works its way up until it breaks through the soil. The soil sustains the plant through its lifecycle. The seed doesn’t have to do anything. It has little control over the timing.

Middle Class

I grew up in a middle-class family. We lived a very middle-class lifestyle. Therefore, I could never see myself living any other way. Those were the thoughts that I put out, and that’s what the Law of Attraction gave me. Now I can live whatever lifestyle I choose because I know how to use the Law of Attraction.

I believe most people would like to be wealthy but do not believe that they can ever achieve it. By knowing how to use the Law of Attraction and developing a habit of following the steps above, you can have anything you desire. Be patient and persevere because it does take time to develop belief and turn your belief into faith.

I’m continuing my posts based on the 13 steps for acquiring wealth. Napoleon Hill, in his book, Think and Grow Rich, discussed the 13 common steps successful men used to acquire their wealth. Today, I’m going to talk about developing a mastermind group with specialized knowledge. This is the fourth step for acquiring wealth or accomplishing your goals. Success Through Building Mastermind Groups

There are two types of knowledge, general and specialized. General knowledge is of little use in accomplishing anything. It’s great to have, but it won’t get you anywhere towards accomplishing your goals. Specialized knowledge is organized and intelligently directed through practical plans of action. Knowledge is not power but only potential power. Knowledge becomes power when it is organized and directed.

The U.S. Educational System

Hill believed that our educational system is flawed. It gives students knowledge but never teaches them how to organize and use that knowledge. For example, many college graduates don’t work in their field of study. They spend four years gaining knowledge which most is of little use to them.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not against education. I’m glad that I went to college and that my two daughters are currently attending universities. The knowledge that we learned has made us better people. That being said the truth is, I was never taught how to use that knowledge to accomplish something.

Specialized Knowledge

This is why it is important to develop a mastermind group with specialized knowledge. Most people have general knowledge and ideas. What they lack is the specialized knowledge to turn their ideas into money. For example, an inventor knows how to build things but doesn’t know how to market or sell what they’ve built. They don’t know how to manage employees or of potential legal issues. Building a mastermind group for success is crucial.

How can they overcome these obstacles and lack of knowledge? They form a mastermind group and bring in people with the specialized knowledge they lack. They can use that knowledge and organize it into a definite plan of action. Their next step is to go to work.

5 Steps

They can continue to add on to their mastermind group by finding others with specialized knowledge they can put to use. Successful people don’t stop acquiring specialized knowledge. I love to learn both general and specialized knowledge. Learning keeps me alive, and I’ll only stop learning when I die.

To be successful in acquiring wealth or accomplishing a goal, you need to:

  1. Form a team. Look for and find like-minded people with the specialized knowledge that you don’t have;
  2. Work together towards a definite purpose;
  3. Organize the specialized knowledge and put it to use;
  4. Form practical plans for accomplishing your definite purpose;
  5. Put action to your plans, and work in harmony.

Follow the above steps, build a mastermind group for success, and you will get closer to your goals every day.

Develop Your Mastermind Group With Specialize Knowledge

Developing a mastermind group with specialized knowledge is just one of the steps on your journey to success. Don’t try to take your journey alone. No one knows everything; successful people become so as a team. Write down the knowledge that you do not have and begin looking for people with specialized knowledge. Develop your mastermind group and do something great.

The True Meaning Of Failure

What is the true meaning of failure? What happens to you when you fail? In this article, I want to talk about failure and most importantly quitting. There is a distinction between the two. As you commence the process of changing your life, you should know the difference.

Meaning Of Failure

Failure is defined as a lack of success, the omission of expected or required action. Quitting is defined as giving up or admitting defeat. These definitions are subjective. I believe the true meaning of failure is when you quit.

Failure is acceptable and should be encouraged. It is a way for you to learn and move forward. Failure will show you your mistakes. Learn what you did wrong and how to correct it on the next attempt. Continue your attempts until you get it right. Quitting is not acceptable. No one ever learned anything from quitting.

Everyone Experiences Failure

To be successful in anything, you must develop a habit of winning. Hall of Fame basketball player Michael Jordan said, “If you quit once, it becomes a habit. Never quit!” The late, great football coach Vince Lombardi stated, “Winning is a habit, unfortunately so is losing.” Quitting is losing, and that is the true meaning of failure.

I’m sure Vince Lombardi failed at some point in his life. I know he did not win every game. Michael Jordan took the game-winning shot 26 times and missed. He missed more than 9000 shots and lost 300 games. He failed over and over, and that’s why he succeeded in life. They might have failed, but they never quit.

Quitting

Quitting comes from a weak mind. Developing a strong mindset is the best prevention for quitting. Understand that you will have failures in life. Learn to embrace your failures and not use them as an excuse to quit.

When you decide to change something in your life, you will experience a phenomenon called resistance. Your brain is wired to keep you safe. It doesn’t like change or stepping outside your comfort zone. You can experience resistance in the form of procrastination, excuses, rationalization, and lack of knowledge. All people with creative minds, artists and writers, have experienced resistance.

Part Of The Process

A strong mind will conquer resistance. You will fail, but you will not quit. Understand that failure is part of the process. Failure is temporary. It will teach you how to succeed. Quitting is permanent. It becomes easier and easier to do, and it will stop all growth. As long as you don’t quit you will never truly fail. The true meaning of failure is quitting.

When people quit after a setback or series of setbacks, it is usually right before they break through. They were just about to learn something that would keep them going. When a seed is planted in the ground, it struggles to become a plant. Imagine if seeds would quit right before they break through the soil. We would have no food.

Techniques

You will need to develop a strong mind. You will strengthen your mind just like you develop your body; through exercises. Begin habits of positive self-talk, meditation, visualization, belief, and faith.

Focus on WHY you started. What was the reason you decided to improve your life? Your WHY has to be big and emotional; your health, family, or personal reasons. If it’s big enough, you will go through setback after setback but never quit.

Another great way to avoid quitting is to not go through the process of change alone. Find a team of like-minded people. Go through the process together, helping each other. If one person is experiencing setbacks, the others will lift them. It is easier to quit on yourself than it is to quit on the team.

Positive self talk is used to transmit your thoughts from your conscious to your subconscious mind. This is a technique used to obtain the life you want to live. In season 2 episode 3 of my podcast, Lessons Learnt, I give you 5 techniques to use positive self talk or autosuggestion.

Self Talk

My book for January is Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. It’s a fascinating book written in the 1930s. Hill devoted 25 years of his life and spoke with 500 successful and wealthy men. He discovered 13 steps all the men had in common and used to obtain their wealth. This is my second time reading this book. Hill says it takes three times to understand the content. Also, you must faithfully complete the exercises he lays out to get the most out of the book. In this chapter, he writes about 5 techniques for using autosuggestion to obtain what you desire.

The Positive Autosuggestion Bridge

Autosuggestion is the third step to obtaining what you desire. I wrote about steps one and two, Desire and Faith, in my last two blog posts. When talking about positive self talk, you must understand your conscious and subconscious mind works. All suggestions and self-administered stimuli reach your mind through your five senses. Autosuggestion becomes a bridge between your conscious and subconscious mind. Your dominating thoughts are in your conscious mind. By using autosuggestion or positive affirmations, they will move into your subconscious mind and influence you into action.

Five Senses

Everything you perceive through your five senses is stopped by your conscious mind. Your conscious mind has the power to pass these perceptions to your subconscious mind. It also can reject them. The conscious mind cannot differentiate between positive and negative perceptions. Whatever thoughts are dominating your conscious mind will be passed to your subconscious mind.

You have complete control of what enters your subconscious mind. Whether your thoughts are positive thoughts or negative thoughts. You can control the type of thought you want to allow into your subconscious mind. Think of your thoughts like seeds. Positive thoughts will grow positive results (flowers). On the other hand, negative thoughts will produce negative results (weeds).

Five Techniques

The five techniques for using positive self talk are:

  1. Write down a statement of what you desire and when you want to have it. Next, write down what you are willing to give up and your plan for obtaining it.
  2. Read your statement aloud twice a day, once in the morning and once before going to bed.
  3. Close your eyes and see yourself having what you desire.
  4. Feel the emotions that you will feel when you obtain it.
  5. Have faith that everything you wrote in your statement will come true.

Emotions

By feeling the emotions of having what you desire you will communicate your desire directly to your subconscious mind. Closing your eyes and seeing yourself in possession of your desire, along with feeling the emotions, will eventually give you the spirit of faith. Go back and read my blog post to understand the importance of faith. Without faith, your statement is just words. The reason most people fail to obtain their desires; they never develop faith.

Faith Is Your Strongest Emotion

These 5 techniques for using autosuggestion are necessary to get what you desire. You are applying the principle of autosuggestion. Faith is your strongest emotion; your subconscious mind will act upon your faith. It is normal to be skeptical whenever you are approached with a new idea. It sounds too easy but the power of autosuggestion will turn your skepticism into belief. Eventually, your belief will turn into faith.

You are the master of your destiny. You and only you determine the life you want to live. The dominating thoughts in your conscious mind passed through to your subconscious mind determines your actions. In turn, your actions will determine your reality. The Power Of Giving Thanks

The power of giving thanks is enormous. Once you have decided you want a better life, begin to give thanks for everything. Begin a habit of giving thanks every morning and throughout your day. Soon you will see how powerful a simple thing like gratitude can be.

To get what you want in life, you must appreciate and give thanks for what you have. You cannot expect a better life if you are not appreciative of the life you have been given. Do not complain about your current situation. Experience the power of giving thanks for everything you have.

Learning About The Power Of Giving Thanks

I have two daughters who are about to graduate from college or “Uni,” as it is referred to in other countries. I like the term “Uni” and wish we used it here. Anyway, my oldest daughter attends the University of Central Florida and will graduate in December. My youngest attends the University of Alabama and will graduate next May.

Both daughters need new cars. My oldest is driving the car we bought her when she was in high school. My youngest is driving one of my hand-me-downs. They both describe their cars as junk and POS. I have told them that is the wrong way to go about the situation. They will not get a better car if they are not thankful for the car that they have.

Give Thanks

Be thankful always. No matter what your situation. You will not change it by complaining. If you don’t live in the nicest house, give thanks. You have a roof over your head. If you are drowning in debt, give thanks. There are ways to pay off debt.

I begin each morning tapping into the power of giving thanks. When I wake up, I say I am thankful for yesterday. No matter if it was a good day or a bad day. I am thankful for today and the possibilities a new day brings. I then begin every morning writing 10 things I am thankful for in a gratitude pad.

A Rough Patch

No matter what your current situation is, give thanks because you are blessed. You are here and have the opportunity to change your situation. As you learn to give thanks, you will be blessed, and your situation will change.

Back in February, I went through a rough patch. I began experiencing many negative things happening in my life. I have written about them in previous blogs. Despite all the bad things that were happening, I gave thanks. I knew that it was just another challenge that God or the universe was putting me through.

Now I am being blessed far above the turmoil that I went through. I continued to be grateful for my situation and think positive thoughts. I changed my circumstances through the power of giving thanks and was rewarded.

Ask God

What circumstances are you going through? Find peace in knowing you can improve your situation. Give thanks for your present life and everything that you have. Ask God or the universe for whatever you want. Believe it will happen. See the life that you want in your mind as real. Feel what it will be like living that life. Continue to do this every day until you develop faith.

Will it be easy? No. You will have to conquer the fears and doubts that come along with change. You must develop patience and persevere to overcome. Patience is a virtue. With patience and perseverance comes faith. Faith defeats all fears and doubts. Once you have faith you will understand the power of giving thanks.

The Meaning Of Faith

Whatever it is that you want to achieve, to be successful you need faith. For example, if you desire to acquire wealth, you must have faith that it will happen because most people do not become financially independent overnight. You have to believe that it is going to happen at some time. You have to see the amount of money you desire in your mind.

There are two parts to the mind, the conscious and the subconscious. The subconscious mind is more powerful and can translate your thoughts into reality. If you are thinking positive thoughts, positive things will come to you. On the other hand, if you are thinking negative thoughts continually, you will get the negative things you are thinking of. For example, a person who is struggling with money talks about their debt and bills. Consequently, they acquire more debt.

Faith And Your Thoughts

Once you add faith to positive thoughts, your subconscious mind transmits it to the universe. Without faith, that transmission is blocked. Simply saying and thinking positive thoughts is not enough. You must add faith to your daily affirmations. Know that it is coming. Feel the emotions you will have when you receive it. Do not worry about the timing. Just know that it is on its way. Develop a burning desire to obtain it. Mix in faith and know that you already have what you want. Close your eyes and see yourself in possession of whatever it is you want. Do not worry about how you are going to obtain it. The subconscious mind will show you the plans for achieving success.

Developing Faith

How does one go about developing faith? Thomas Aquinas said, “To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible.” This quote shows how difficult it is to describe faith. Faith is not tangible; you cannot point to it. It is something you have or you do not have. You develop faith through the repetition of affirmations daily. These affirmations will cross from your conscious mind to your subconscious mind. The more you repeat them, the more you believe. In time you will voluntarily develop an emotion of faith.

Emotion

By adding emotion, for example, happy or grateful, to your thoughts and combining with faith, those thoughts begin to translate to your desires through action. Thinking and saying, “by July 1, 2025, I am happy that I earn $10,000 monthly,” your subconscious mind will start showing you a plan to achieve the money. It is up to you to recognize those plans and put them into action.

As I said above in paragraph three, and it bears repeating, your thoughts are transferred to your subconscious mind causing great things to happen. As a word of warning, there is a negative counterpart. If you are constantly speaking and thinking negatively, these thoughts will bring negative things to you.

Final Thoughts

As I wrap this up, if you want to change your current situation and live a better life, keep these two statements in mind. A positive mind becomes a home for faith. A negative mind becomes a home for fear. Faith and fear cannot exist in the same place. Live your life by faith.

For me, the vast majority of negativity in my life came from the television and phone. Media and social media inundated my life with negativity constantly. I stopped watching the news and became selective of what shows I watched. I did the same thing with social media. Becoming selective about which platforms I use helped me tremendously.

My life can get very cluttered and I spend too much time on negative things. Do you find your life is the same? Periodically I like to take a look at my life and de-clutter it. Excercise

One of my favorite things to do to reduce negativity is exercise. I exercise daily; while doing so, I think about positive situations. The negative stuff is not allowed in my mind. Set small goals during your workout. Reward yourself as you hit these small goals. While exercising, listen to music that makes you happy. Get back to nature and take a walk/jog outside. Being outdoors, soaking up the sunshine, and breathing fresh air is very positive.

Me Time

In addition to daily exercise, another way I ignore negativity is to set aside time for myself every day. I do this early in the morning; it starts my day off right. Take some time for yourself. Go to a quiet room where you are alone in a positive environment. Control your thoughts and only think positive as you meditate. Fill your lungs as you slowly breathe in and out. Get into a relaxed state and speak positive affirmations. The negative will melt away.
