A Bad Case Of Writer’s Block

I haven’t been around lately because I have a bad case of writer’s block. Normally, I like to write and post on a regular schedule, but as of late, I cannot come up with the content to write about. Others have suggested that I re-purpose some of my old posts. When I think of doing that, I don’t get a good feeling about it, so I have scratched that option.

Before, I would get inspiration from anywhere (I am assuming like most of you). It could come from reading a book in one line in that book would turn into a post. Seeing someone on the street that mentioned something in passing; could turn into a post. Many times, inspiration would hit me while exercising, and I would write an article in my head, later transferring it to paper.

After discussing this issue with Cindy Georgakas of uniquelyfitblog.wordpress.com, she suggested writing about what I am experiencing. So here I am, and I will try to describe what I’m feeling the best I can. Please be aware that when I talk about God, I am talking about Infinite Intelligence, the Great Creator, the Universe, whatever word you use. I believe they were all talking about the same God, even if we come from different religions.

Before May, writing my blog posts was easy for me. I wake early, and the first thing I do is drink 24 ounces of water. While drinking, a thought enters my mind, and before I know it, I’m writing the next post. After I returned from my daughter’s graduation (yay Lindsey), the ideas stopped coming. I thought it would only last a couple of days, and I quickly resumed my daily routine.

After giving thanks, meditation, and prayer, I sat down and opened my journal. Nothing came to me except a bad case of writer’s block. I just stared at the blank paper waiting to be filled with words. Since I have learned to enjoy writing, I couldn’t comprehend what was happening. Days turned into weeks; still no inspiration.

One of the confusing issues I have is that everything else in my life is going well. I am healthy, happy, and feel closer to God than ever before. I am reading more than I ever have. In contrast with my blog, the fictional novel I’m working on is almost writing itself. Ideas flow to me when I’m writing fiction. The scenes play out in my head like a movie. I then transition to writing my blog, and the ideas stop. Having a bad case of writer’s block is very frustrating.

Because I don’t know exactly what is happening, I have become inundated with questions. Is God pointing me in another direction? Am I supposed to put more effort into my other endeavors? Why is this resistance happening right now? Is the timing significant? How long will it last?

I know that God will always point me in the right direction. God is always taking care of me even when I stayed a good distance from Him. The answer will come sooner or later, in Divine timing. I trust and have complete faith.

If anyone has any suggestions, I am open and ready to receive them. I truly appreciate everyone who takes the time to visit my site and comment. Once again, thank you, Cindy. It feels good to be publishing a post once more.

Why Setting Goals Is Important

Who actually writes down goals? Well, the best answer is, successful people. Did you know that 96% of all the wealth created in the world is created by 1% of the population? These are the people that are extremely successful in building businesses and making money. By comparison, I recently heard that only 1% of people actually write down their goals. One could deduct that the 1% who are writing down their goals are also the 1% creating 96% of the wealth. For example, in my post last week on becoming an expert, I listed some habits of successful people. One of those habits is that successful people are goal-oriented. This is a great reason why setting goals is important. Taking this all in, I think it’s time we started writing some goals.

Do you need direction in your life? Are you uninspired and procrastinate? My course will show you how to properly set goals and change your life. Goals will put purpose back into your life.

What Are Goals

What are goals? Simply put, goals are just things that you want. Decide on some things that you want and write them down. Now you have some goals. For example, you might want more money, a bigger house, or fame. Maybe you want a better relationship or actually be in a relationship. Whatever you want, write it down.

They must have an end date. By setting an end date, you will stay on track to accomplish them. It helps you do a little bit every day to keep moving forward. You will also be able to track your progress towards reaching your goal. For example, by December 31, 2020, I have earned $1,500,000 profit in my businesses. I can now see how close or far I am to accomplishing it. This allows me to look at my plan and see if it’s working.

Methods

One method of staying on track with your goals is called, “The Seinfeld Method.” In this method, you get a large yearly calendar and hang it on a prominent wall. Establish your goal and your plan. Every day that you do something in your plan and work toward your goal, put a big red “X” on that date. The purpose is to establish a chain and never break the chain.

Another method is to put two jars on your desk. One jar is filled with marbles, paperclips, etc., and the other is empty. Every time you do something towards accomplishing your goal, move the object to the empty jar. This is a great method for accomplishing them. For example, A lot of salespeople use this method when they have a goal of making X amount of sales calls a day.

The Person You Become

What I like most about setting goals and working towards obtaining them, is what I become from the process. Who will you become by focusing on your goals? What kind of person would you be after working on your plan? Like me, you will change. By focusing on them you will begin to get a direction in your life. It will give you a purpose and you will find you are better because of it. This to me is the most important aspect of goal setting, what you become, and another reason why setting goals is important.

The Journey To Success Begins

It’s a new year full of promises. My goals are set and my plans are in place. Now it is time to put the work in as the journey to success begins. Seeds that I planted in 2020 are beginning to emerge. All the work I put in last year will begin to pay off.

Learn The Keys To A Successful Journey!

The Journey To Success Begins

I have to constantly remind myself to enjoy every step as the journey to success begins. One way I do this is to look back at my journey so far. I asked myself, “How did I get here?” I have always hated writing. In college, during my career with DEA, and even now, as one of my sources of income depends on writing reports, I struggle with writing.

Why?

So why did I choose to start a blog in April 2020? Why would I want to put down my thoughts on paper when I never could stand writing. The only answer is divine inspiration. It is something I’m supposed to do. My entire life I have been led by divine inspiration. I believe that God has a purpose for me to fulfill and writing seems to be a big part of that.

Looking back at my life, I grew up as a shy child who lacked confidence. I never felt like I belonged and always looked at other people as better than me. Even though I had many successes, I would only focus on the failures. I was constantly looking at the negative things that went on in my life.

Let’s Begin

As I grew, I constantly found myself in situations that were outside of my comfort zone. These were always situations that I volunteered for, such as trying out for sports teams. I volunteered to join the military and parachute training even though I was scared of heights. I didn’t know how I kept finding myself in these situations. Even though I excelled in my training and was winning awards, I still lacked self-confidence. All of my achievements didn’t matter.

Cancer

In 2008, I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and remember asking myself, “What have I done in my life?” Taking a look at my life, I added up all my achievements and my successes. I found peace because I had lived a full life.

Another great find was my self-confidence and I stopped caring about other people’s opinions. I focused on myself and began to take notice of all the “God winks” taking place daily. “God winks” are seemingly coincidental events that happen in our lives. Thinking about someone you haven’t heard from in a long time and they call you. This phone call eventually leads you to someone who becomes a great client.

January 2020

Fast forward to January 2020, when I became inspired to start an online business to help people. I couldn’t shake the thought that I needed to pass on lessons that I have learned throughout my life. I have learned so much about how the mind works by training and working alongside military special operations operatives. The thought wouldn’t leave me that there were people in the world who needed to know what I have learned.

I started InspireChief.com and began doing the one thing that I hated more than anything, writing. I never learned how to type, so when I do, it’s with two fingers. Luckily, I found dictation software and I don’t have to type, which saves me a lot of time.

Relationships Are Key

Through my journey to success, I began to enjoy blogging. I have built relationships with people throughout the world.  I enjoy cultivating these relationships the most. Relationships are important and I began using social media to build more relationships.

During my 30 year career with the military and DEA, I was told three times, “thank you,” by strangers. These two little words are powerful and gave me the energy to carry on the fight. In the last nine months, I have been thanked several times and told that my articles have helped people. Whenever I hear I have helped someone, it fills me with energy and keeps me going. Humans are not solitary people, we need interaction and relationships. Relationships need to be tended to so they can flourish. A simple comment like “thank you” goes a long way.

The Journey To Success Begins For 2021

As the journey to success begins for 2021, I know I’m here today by divine intervention. I still receive “God winks” frequently. I know there’s more to do. My journey to success has been great and I have enjoyed it. Make sure you enjoy yours and keep your eyes and ears open for your “God winks.”

The End Of Year Self-Analysis

This is it, 2020 is finally coming to an end and it has been a wild ride. This time last year who would have thought that 2020 would become such a train wreck. Now, rest assured, on January 1, 2021 everything’s not gonna miraculously become better. For me and my family, as well as a lot of people, 2020 was a rough year and I’m glad it’s coming to an end. 2021 is filled with great possibilities and it’s always exciting to begin something new. Now that we are in the last few days of 2020 it is a great time to do an end-of-year self-analysis.

Year-End Analysis

Let’s bring 2020 to a close with a few ways to conduct an end of year self-analysis. I like to do an end of year self-analysis to take inventory of my life. I look at different aspects of my life to see where I became better, stayed the same, and where I’m worse off. Some of the areas that I look at are my goals, my plan, my education, and my expenses.

Self-Analysis Of Goals

Since our goals are simply what we want they are easy to analyze. Did I accomplish them or not? Doing an end of year self-analysis of your goals is crucial to set goals for next year. I break down my goals to make sure they were specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bounded. If I accomplished my goals easily, I know I need to set more challenging ones for next year. If I did not accomplish my goals, I want to find out why. Maybe I overestimated my abilities and set unattainable goals.

Analyzing The Plan

The next thing I do when conducting an end of year self-analysis is going over my plan. Accomplishing the goals I set for myself all depends on my plan. If the plan I had didn’t succeed then I need to change my plan. By analyzing my plan I don’t waste time doing things that didn’t achieve the results I expected. Achieving great results means my plan is working so I continue with the plan next year. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

Learning

I always like to go over my education from the previous year. I look at the courses I purchased, books I read, and the people I listened to. Writing down what I learned, if anything, from these different educational tools, helps me to see if I’m on the right path. You can analyze what you learned about yourself, your business/career, and your relationship.

For me, education is important, and I never want to stop learning. This analysis of my education from the past year also helps me to analyze my goals. For example, if I didn’t achieve a goal in my business but I learned some new marketing tactics then I know I’m on the right track. If you are failing, don’t beat yourself up. As long as you are learning and doing you’re on the right track. Everything you’ve done in the past year is like sowing seeds that will begin to sprout soon.

Money

Finally, I conduct an end of year analysis of my expenses. I want to see where my money is going. Am I investing my money or spending my money? For my business, some of the things I look at are courses I purchased, marketing expenses, as-well-as apps, and plug-ins. I want to see whether they were worth it or not. By conducting this end-of-year analysis of my expenses I get a good indication of my return on investment. I can then determine what expenses I cut and what I continue for next year.

Bye 2020

Let’s all say goodbye to 2020 and look forward to making 2021 a better year. Decide today where you want to be this time next year. Conduct an end of year self-analysis and put together a winning plan for next year. Commit to working on your plan every day and you will be a different person by the end of 2021.

I wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

It’s About You

It’s not about me, it’s about you. I was asked the other day why I started writing a blog and didn’t really have an answer to that question. I’m not in my 20s and I’m not just starting out in life. I’m very comfortable and don’t need any extra income that can be generated from writing a blog. Heck, I have never really enjoyed writing in my entire life. I loved my career and enjoyed the majority of it. I loved to be out on the street and participating in operations, but I hated writing reports. We had five days to get our reports in after an operation and my bosses were constantly hounding me to do my reports. Just the thought of all the hours it would take to compile my notes and write a passable report would fill me with dread. One of the reasons I loved being in the jungle was because we didn’t have to do reports.

Photo by Suzy Hazelwood on Pexels.com

I started to think about the question and realized that it will really wasn’t my decision. The thought was placed into me by a higher power. I really didn’t have a choice or did I? I could’ve ignored the thoughts but throughout my life, I’ve realized that when you’re led to do something by a higher power, do it. There are terrific benefits to doing it and it’s something you’re supposed to do. I could estimate that throughout my life I have listened to a higher power 90 percent of the time and made good decisions. At the same time, 10 percent of the time I ignored what I was being told and made bad decisions.

It all started after I heard a speech where someone said that you could make money online. This got my attention because I like money, money is good and you can never have enough of it. I don’t ever want to stop earning money. There are so many great things I can do with money and so many people I can help. So after hearing that you can make money online, I began researching it and was told I needed to write a blog. At first, I hesitated because I’m not a writer and who would read my stuff? There was one thought in my mind that would not go away, It’s not about me, it’s about you. It’s about you, the 7.8 billion people in the world. If somebody can take away just one thing from one of my blog posts and it changes their life, then everything I do is justified.

You have so much to give the world. Each and every one of you was born with your gifts to the world. Everybody has something inside of them that can help someone else. I believe it’s your obligation to pass your gift to others. My gift is motivation and people have told me that I say the right things at the right time and have helped people. If anyone has ever told you that you are good at something, that is your gift. We must continue spreading our gifts and never quit. When things get tough and you’re going through a difficult time, you have to find a way to reach down and fight through because someone, somewhere needs your gift. It’s not about you, it’s about them.

I will continue to talk to as many people as I can until my last breath. When things aren’t going well, I’ll keep going. When I’m talking and it seems like no one’s listening, I’ll keep talking. I’ll never quit, it’s just not in me. It’s not in you either. You might think so, but it’s not. When you think it is, get out of bed and go do it one more day. Do it the next day and the next until you’ve accomplished the mission. Everyone’s counting on you, so it’s your duty, your obligation to them to get it done. If you quit then you are letting down 7 .8 billion people. That’s a huge burden to have to live with for the rest of your life. Fight with all your being and when you feel you have nothing left in you, get up and take another swing. Whatever you do, never stop and keep moving forward.

Life is hard and it will hit you. It will take you to your knees. Anyone who has gone through life without any kind of struggles hasn’t lived. So when it hits you, hit back, keep hitting back, keep moving forward. As long as you’re moving forward you’re winning, it doesn’t matter what the score is. There are too many people counting on you. It might hurt and it might be hard but you gotta keep moving forward. It’s not about you, it’s about them.

The warrior mentality and the ability to fight are in us all. It is there at birth. We are all fighters and a fighter is going to fight. They won’t quit until they’ve won or died. Nothing can stop them. Nothing can stop you. Once you know what you want, go out and get it. Don’t ever let anyone or anything stop you. You and only you are in control and determine whether you win or lose. You will have successes and you will have failures but you will never quit. You will fight and fight and fight until you win. It’s not about you, it’s about them.

The 80/20 rule says that 20 percent of the people do 80 percent of the work. I was one of the 20 percent. It was ingrained in me in the military to accomplish the mission, that was the most important thing. Whenever one of my bosses needed something difficult done, they called on me because I always accomplished the mission, no matter how hard. I wouldn’t quit. You have to accomplish your mission and failure is not an option. You have been given a mission, whatever it may be and it is your duty to do what it takes to accomplish that mission and never quit. I won’t ever quit on you. When you win, then I win. I can’t succeed until you do. Keep fighting! It’s not about you, it’s about them.

The Wonderful Awesome Power of Music

Music is such a powerful instrument. It can invoke many different feelings inside us. It can make us feel happy, sad, or put us into deep thought. It can inspire us and even transport us back in time by bringing up a memory. It can get your heart beating fast and pumping adrenaline. It can put you in a very relaxed, calm state of mind. Tap into the wonderful awesome power of music.

I was working out this morning and I always listen to music while I exercise. I have a playlist in my phone of several upbeat songs that keep my adrenaline flowing throughout my workout. Today as I started my workout, the first song that came on was, It’s My Life by Bon Jovi. I got this overwhelming joyous feeling in my heart because the words of the song matched perfectly with my life. My life changed dramatically yesterday in a very good way and took all the success I’ve had in the past to a whole different level. I’ve heard the song probably a thousand times before but today I really listened to the words.

It’s my life

It is just that, my life. I am in total control of what happens in my life based on my reactions to circumstances that happen every day. You are in control of your life. Today many people allow other forces to control them. Many people are living in fear because of the pandemic and the information they are listening to. I choose faith and faith and fear cannot exist in the same place at the same time. Both faith and fear are a choice and you have to choose one or the other. Most of my neighbors can’t believe that my wife and I still go out to eat. They live in fear. Last night we drove to our favorite burger joint and had a great meal. We practiced social distancing, covered our faces, and went to the front door and ordered our meal. We went back to the car and a short time later; they brought our order out to us. We had a wonderful time sitting in the car enjoying our burgers and shakes. It reminded me of our first date almost 30 years ago. We went to a burger joint in Lima, Peru where they brought the food out to you and you ate it in the car. Tap into the wonderful awesome power of music.

It’s now or never
I ain’t gonna live forever

This is it; it is NOW! Now is the time to make that decision to change your life. I am rapidly approaching what is said to be the fourth quarter of life. I could just sit back and enjoy the next 20 or so years, but that isn’t me. I want to do so much.  I have so many people that I want to help. I want to increase my giving. I want to pass along these lessons to millions and millions of people. And the time is now, today, because just as it says in the lyrics; I ain’t gonna live forever, we are not promised any certain period of time. We are not promised tomorrow, so the time to make that decision to change, to help people, to live your dreams is NOW!

I just want to live while I’m alive (It’s my life)

Life is a beautiful thing. Get out there every day and live it like it’s your last. Dance like no one’s watching and sing like you have the voice of an angel. Do everything that you want to do. Try things that make you uncomfortable. We only have a finite number of days on this wonderful planet, make the most out of each one. Tap into the wonderful awesome power of music.

My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said I did it my way
I just want to live while I’m alive

Open your heart and follow it where it’s leading you. Be in tune with your inner feelings and listen to those little voices encouraging you to do something good. You always know what’s good because it will make you happy when you think about it. Listen to the words of Frankie and do it your way. Your way might not be the only way but it is the best way for you. Go out and live life now while you’re alive because afterward, it’s too late.

The next random song that came on from my playlist was Right Now by Van Halen. I don’t think there are two songs in my playlist that would have had a better impact on me. It just confirmed that all these great things are happening to me right now. I need to make the most of every day. Whenever I hear this song it takes me back to my days in the jungle. I used to carry a Sony Walkman cassette player and earphones as part of my equipment. We had open doors on the helicopters and I would always sit next to the door gunner. I would start playing this song right before the helicopter lifted off. Many times we would fly what the pilots call the “nape of the earth” which is just a few feet above the ground. They would fly right over the river and follow the curves at a very fast speed. It was exhilarating. When I hear the song I’m transported back inside the helicopter to a very happy time for me. We never knew what would happen when we arrived at our objective. Would it be an easy day or would they be waiting for us and we would have to fight our way out? I never felt more alive. Right Now makes me feel alive when I hear it and reminds me that right now is the time to get it done.

Tap into the wonderful awesome power of music. Whatever you want to accomplish, start right now. Don’t wait for the perfect day or time. Don’t wait for the pandemic to be over and COVID-19 to be wiped out.  Don’t wait for tomorrow or next week. Don’t wait until the end of the semester or when you get that big project finished at work. There is no better day than today, so go get it done. IT’S YOUR LIFE – go live it.

I appreciate every like, follow, comment and share. Keep’em coming.
