Soar Like An Eagle – The Start Of Something Huge

I’ve written a few posts about the beginning. The excitement that you feel when you start something new. A relationship, a business, whatever it is it is full of possibilities. The possibilities are endless. It can turn out to be something great, the start of something huge. The beginning is the best time and with perseverance, soon you will be soaring like an eagle.

I have two daughters who are currently attending college. This post is about my oldest daughter, Nicole. She will graduate in December from the University of Central Florida. Her degree will be Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. She is also a certified personal trainer and is spreading her wings, getting ready to soar. She is opening her first business, SOAR Fitness, and will be conducting personal training, as well as, group classes. Her website is soar-fit.com.

Big DREAMS

It is exciting to watch your children venture out on their own knowing they have everything to succeed. Her journey is just beginning. I have taught her to enjoy every step. Enjoy the good, the bad, and the ugly. Nicole has big DREAMS. She knows what she wants and is driven to achieve it.

She decided to help people to become physically fit in college. Ever since making her decision, she has been focused. We have been updated on her plans for the last couple of years. I now see how committed she is to her decision. It will happen no matter what. She has written down her goals and formulated plans.

Nicole works on her plans daily and, I can see how much she believes in herself. She is quickly developing FAITH! When you have FAITH, nothing can stop you. I know when I talk to someone if they believe in their dreams or not. Nicole does and, soon, she will be soaring like an eagle – the start of something huge.

She already has begun training clients and, there will be more to come. In the future, she will have her clothing line, a brand of supplements, swimwear, and fitness app. Her big dream is to open up her gym.

She is currently working on her website and shooting exercise videos to upload. Eventually, she will sell exercise programs online. She is developing an eight-week program to build muscle and reduce body fat.

Nicole’s philosophy is to strengthen the body and the mind together. A strong mind will lead to a strong body. Developing a person’s mentality along with physically strengthening their body will lead to sustainable results. Soon her clients will be soaring like an eagle.

What Is Your WHY In 2021?

For my January posts, I wanted to get you started off right on your journey to a new you. If you have made the decision that you want to be better off this time next year, this post will supply you with the main ingredient. I know that you have set your goals for 2021 and written your plans. Now comes the question, “What is your WHY in 2021?”

Are You Struggling With Self-Confidence? I Have Created A Course To Help You Find Yours!

What Is Your Why In 2021

January 2021 is your beginning. It is time to step out on the path, look up at the mountain, and begin your journey. You should be excited and keep that excitement throughout your journey. Enjoy it. It’s not always going to be as easy as the first day. This is why you have to answer that question, “What is your WHY in 2021?” Your WHY has to be yours. It has to be big and emotional.

Think And Grow Rich

Every January I reread, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. In his book, Hill defines the 13 steps necessary to obtain wealth. To write this book, Hill spent 20 years interviewing 500 men of wealth during the early 20th century. He discovered that each one had the same 13 traits. One of the traits that each man had was a “Definite Purpose.” This is your main goal, what you want to accomplish in your lifetime. Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, and Andrew Carnegie Hall had a definite purpose.

The book was written during the Great Depression which was one of the hardest times for the country. It was a time where most people struggled financially and many lost everything. What a lot of people don’t know is that few people became millionaires during this time. They didn’t let the circumstances affect them. They had a big WHY and a definite purpose.

A Big WHY!

A Big WHY in 2021

If 2020 taught us anything it is that life is life and it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. Circumstances can change very quickly. Life can either shine you up or grind you up. Don’t let the things you can’t control stop you from controlling the things you can. Two things that you have complete control over are your Attitude and Effort. If you don’t have a big WHY you will crumble at the first sign of adversity. A big WHY will push you and keep you focused on working on your plan.

Hill begins Think and Grow Rich with the first step which is Desire. He says, “Every person who wins in any undertaking must be willing to burn his ships and cut all sources of retreat. Only by so doing can one be sure of maintaining that state of mind known as a burning desire to win, essential to success.” Here he is talking about your WHY. I ask you again, “What is your WHY in 2021?”

Let’s Do Something Special In 2021!

Go Find It

Do you know your definite purpose? If not, go find one. If so, go find that burning desire to achieve your definite purpose. It is only by knowing what you want to accomplish and desiring immensely to succeed that you will bring about change. Find your WHY and you can be a different person this time next year.

If I held your head underwater your definite purpose would be to breathe. Quickly, you would develop a burning desire to fill your lungs with air. You would develop a big emotional WHY; you want to live. Develop the same burning desire to achieve your goals as you had for air. Fight for your goals as you would fight for air. If you do this, nothing can stop you.

A New You

The question remains, “What do you want to accomplish this year?” Do you want to be living a different lifestyle this time next year? If so, “What is your WHY in 2021?” Find your definite purpose and develop a burning desire to achieve it. Get started today.

The Journey To Success Begins

It’s a new year full of promises. My goals are set and my plans are in place. Now it is time to put the work in as the journey to success begins. Seeds that I planted in 2020 are beginning to emerge. All the work I put in last year will begin to pay off.

Learn The Keys To A Successful Journey!

The Journey To Success Begins

I have to constantly remind myself to enjoy every step as the journey to success begins. One way I do this is to look back at my journey so far. I asked myself, “How did I get here?” I have always hated writing. In college, during my career with DEA, and even now, as one of my sources of income depends on writing reports, I struggle with writing.

Why?

So why did I choose to start a blog in April 2020? Why would I want to put down my thoughts on paper when I never could stand writing. The only answer is divine inspiration. It is something I’m supposed to do. My entire life I have been led by divine inspiration. I believe that God has a purpose for me to fulfill and writing seems to be a big part of that.

Looking back at my life, I grew up as a shy child who lacked confidence. I never felt like I belonged and always looked at other people as better than me. Even though I had many successes, I would only focus on the failures. I was constantly looking at the negative things that went on in my life.

As I grew, I constantly found myself in situations that were outside of my comfort zone. These were always situations that I volunteered for, such as trying out for sports teams. I volunteered to join the military and parachute training even though I was scared of heights. I didn’t know how I kept finding myself in these situations. Even though I excelled in my training and was winning awards, I still lacked self-confidence. All of my achievements didn’t matter.

Cancer

In 2008, I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and remember asking myself, “What have I done in my life?” Taking a look at my life, I added up all my achievements and my successes. I found peace because I had lived a full life.

Another great find was my self-confidence and I stopped caring about other people’s opinions. I focused on myself and began to take notice of all the “God winks” taking place daily. “God winks” are seemingly coincidental events that happen in our lives. Thinking about someone you haven’t heard from in a long time and they call you. This phone call eventually leads you to someone who becomes a great client.

January 2020

Fast forward to January 2020, when I became inspired to start an online business to help people. I couldn’t shake the thought that I needed to pass on lessons that I have learned throughout my life. I have learned so much about how the mind works by training and working alongside military special operations operatives. The thought wouldn’t leave me that there were people in the world who needed to know what I have learned.

I started InspireChief.com and began doing the one thing that I hated more than anything, writing. I never learned how to type, so when I do, it’s with two fingers. Luckily, I found dictation software and I don’t have to type, which saves me a lot of time.

Relationships Are Key

Through my journey to success, I began to enjoy blogging. I have built relationships with people throughout the world.  I enjoy cultivating these relationships the most. Relationships are important and I began using social media to build more relationships.

During my 30 year career with the military and DEA, I was told three times, “thank you,” by strangers. These two little words are powerful and gave me the energy to carry on the fight. In the last nine months, I have been thanked several times and told that my articles have helped people. Whenever I hear I have helped someone, it fills me with energy and keeps me going. Humans are not solitary people, we need interaction and relationships. Relationships need to be tended to so they can flourish. A simple comment like “thank you” goes a long way.

The Journey To Success Begins For 2021

As the journey to success begins for 2021, I know I’m here today by divine intervention. I still receive “God winks” frequently. I know there’s more to do. My journey to success has been great and I have enjoyed it. Make sure you enjoy yours and keep your eyes and ears open for your “God winks.”

Is This It?

What if this is it? What if your life, right now, is as good as it’s going to get? How does that make you feel? For me, it would not make me feel particularly good. You see, I’m in my 60th year on this rock, retired, and what I would consider successful. So I could sit back and enjoy my remaining days in relative comfort. I could read some good books, fish more, and enjoy a glass of scotch every now and then. I can’t do that because I still have the drive. I love to be challenged, I love to be uncomfortable, and to push myself to be better. The song, Walk by the Foo Fighters sums it up for me. I’m always “learning to walk again.” When one chapter in my life closes, I have to open up another and start from scratch to learn something new. I have to learn how to live life over again. “I don’t ever want to die,” is a great line from the song. Life is about the journey and as long as you continue your journey, you’ll never die while you’re living.

Walk by the Foo Fighters

I have climbed many mountain peaks in my 60 years. I have listened to the crunch of the pebbles under my feet and felt the coolness of the rocks as I grabbed them to pull myself up. Every time I succeeded in something and reached that mountain peak, I have a tendency to sit back and enjoy the view for a while. There are times when I thought that I would never have to climb another mountain. I would think that this is it, that I don’t have to go through any more pain or hardships. That I had finally arrived. Then I would look up and there it was, another mountain peak calling my name. That drive would kick in and the pain and hardships would become a distant memory like the heartbreaks of youthful love. Off I would go to tackle another challenge. When I conquered that challenge, I would look up and there would be another mountain peak. Some people would say that I’m just a glutton for punishment, but I would say it’s just part of the journey of life. I was never happy sitting on the sideline, I always wanted to get into the game. I never wanted to look up at the mountain from the ground, but rather look down at the ground from the peak.

When I wrote my post titled, The Journey,” the majority of my memories were about the process, not the completion. I have fond memories of going through different training and schools in the military and with DEA. Several of the schools involved a lot of physical hardships and painful experiences, but I wouldn’t trade them for anything. It makes me happy to relive those times in my mind. That was my journey and I enjoyed it. We are all on a different journey and I encourage you to enjoy every moment of it. Challenge yourself and become better than you are right now.

Do You Want More Out Of Life? Only 4 Days Left!

When I began with the question, “What if this is it,” I hope it brought out a little fear in you. I want you to feel that tight, nauseous, nerve-racking feeling in the pit of your stomach. I want you to say, “NO! I want something better.” No matter where you are in life, you should always want something better. You should always be striving to achieve more. Put yourself in uncomfortable positions, positions that suck. Make those uncomfortable positions comfortable and then go out and find something else that is uncomfortable. There is so much out there for each and every one of you and you can have whatever you want as long as you’re willing to go through uncomfortable times.

There isn’t anything special about me, I can’t play a musical instrument or build a house. I can do just about anything as long as I have instructions. I can follow instructions or a good YouTube video that shows me how. I’m pretty much just like the majority of the people on the planet, and you probably would not look twice at me if I sat down at the table next to you in a coffee shop. I’m just me. It is said that God gives us our gifts at birth. One of the gifts that God gave me was patience. I don’t have to have something right away. I’ve sat on the runway in the middle of nowhere for three days waiting for a plane full of drugs to arrive. I could sit in my car on surveillance for 8 to 12 hours and it never bothered me, others would start complaining after an hour. My patience allows me to set a goal and work towards that goal without expecting results immediately. A lot of people give up on their goals because they don’t have the patience to let their goals grow and give their plan time to work. We have become a “Drive-Thru” society where people want to order something, pull up to the window, and have it already prepared for them. I would rather eat at a restaurant where the chef takes his time preparing the meal. It might take longer, but in the end, it tastes so much better. When I set a goal to accomplish something I always put an end date on the goal. If for whatever reason I don’t accomplish my goal by that end date, I just reset the date. I don’t change the goal.

Do you want more out of life or is this it for you? Are you satisfied with where you are today in life or do you want to make a change? Are you willing to take on something outside of your comfort zone? Is putting up with some physical or mental discomfort too much for you? When you see successful people, do you think that they are different than you and that’s why they are successful? They’re not. They’re just people like you and me. They had a dream, set a goal, made a plan, and worked on their plan. Whenever they would run into roadblocks, they just adjusted their plan, they didn’t change the dream. If you’re not happy with your life as it is today then, change it.

This Is Not It!!
