Recognizing Opportunities In Adversity

Do you feel that right now is a great time to be alive? Because I do. I feel so blessed every day to be able to experience everything that life offers on a daily basis. We are living through an unprecedented event, maybe not in history, but in my lifetime.

Join My Team

I used to watch movies such as The Andromeda Strain and The Omega Man in which an unknown virus began killing humans. COVID-19 has created vast changes in how we work and live. It has devastated small businesses and left millions unemployed. As each day passes we get closer to “flattening the curve” and it will be interesting to see what the world will look like once everything starts opening up.

Are You Recognizing The Opportunities In Adversity?

It is said that adversity creates opportunity. Many people took advantage of the opportunities created during the Great Depression and became millionaires. While many people suffered, others took advantage of being unemployed and turned ideas into businesses. They saw the opportunity created by the Great Depression. Can you see opportunity created by the current pandemic? It’s out there, opportunity is always out there, you just have to be able to see it. When you see it, you then have to act on it.

Your Fingertips

For all the youth out there, I just want to say that we are living in the greatest time in our history. You can carry around the world at your fingertips. Everything has sped up exponentially, from communication with other people to becoming wealthy. Today, we can walk around with a computer in our pocket, we can search for any question that we have, and communicate with anyone throughout the world

Creativity

All it takes is a little creativity and you can make money without ever having to spend a day working a job you probably hate. I never would’ve thought that you could make money by videotaping yourself doing something that you do for one day, but people do. The ease at which we can obtain information today presents the greatest opportunity for all of us. You can literally find a step-by-step process to do anything. If you want to learn how to write a blog, there are bloggers who write blogs on how to write a blog.

I’ve always heard people say, “I can’t wait till my ship comes in,” and you might want to write this down, “Your ship has arrived. It is anchored just offshore and all you have to do is swim out to it and get on board.”

  1. This is a great post and soooo true!
Love the uplifting message and swimming out to get on board! Yes, opportunites are out there. Darn, I’m not ordering much right now but did just order a book off Amazon. Look at you seizing the opportunities. 👏👏👏👏

  2. This is inspiring. We always have something good in the midst of the so many bad we may see. And we can seize the opportunities laid out before us when we choose to see the good in these times. 💯

  3. I can totally relate to having an opportunity in adversity. It was during a pandemic (COVID -19)that I started my blog and it’s my greatest achievement so far. I only launched last Month and I’m happy I gathered the courage to do so. I have something positive to look at.

  5. I love the hope you are sharing. In these times where so many are facing the unimaginable, it’s a blessing to be reminded of what IS good!

You’re right. There is so much opportunity available. My favorite part was about using creativity. Not having to work a job we hate for the rest of our lives because we’re fulfilled and successful in doing what we love is a gift to treasure! And it is 100% attainable today with commitment.

Thank you for sharing this encouragement in such a beautiful way 😊

  6. The biggest chance for opportunity that I see during this pandemic is the fact that it’s given almost all of us more time – time to create, better ourselves, and explore our own skills. I’ve used the pandemic to teach myself two new languages and to start writing my first novel. Thank you so much for showing people the silver lining to this dark, occassionaly disheartening time.

    1. Thank you for listening and your wonderful comments. You have definitely made the most out of your time. I am looking forward to reading your novel. I appreciate your kind words. Take care.

  7. You are certainly right there Chief, who would have thought ASMR would be a way for people to earn income? I even just had to Google GRWM to find out what that was an acronym for!

You’re certainly putting your skills and what you know to good use in this blog and your podcast. I’m putting time into crafting my book, and in even into the editing phase now with a few trusted test readers to help me. I’m also putting time every day into improving my song writing and recording skills so when I get to releasing music it sounds as good as it can for what I know at that time.

Keep on keeping on, and I’ll catch you in the next blog. 😎
